WHAT IS ELECTROLOGY?
Electrology is the science of permanent hair removal by insertion
of a sterile probe into the hair follicle. A small amount of electrical
energy is discharged, safely destroying the hair growth tissue.
This technique has been used safely for well over 100 years and even today
is the only means of permanent hair removal. Electrolysis has produced millions
of satisfied patients - happy with their physical appearance and improved self-image.
These persons have released themselves from the ritual of dealing with tiring,
costly and never-ending temporary "solutions" by choosing electrolysis - the only
permanent choice!
There are three different modalities used to permanently remove hair growth:
ELECTROLYSIS
Direct Current (DC) is used to chemically disable the hair follicle. The use of
direct current allows moisture and salt already present in the body to create a chemical
action resuting in sodium hydroxide (lye). This chemical action destroys the cells within
each hair follicle rendering them incapable of future hair growth.
THERMOLYSIS
Alternating current (AC), sometimes referred to as high frequency or shortwave, is used
to create a heat which acts to destroy the hair follicle.
THE BLEND (Dual Modality)
The blending of both electrolysis and thermolysis simultaneously or sequentially to achieve dual
action destruction of the hair follicle.
These methods are safe, effective and permanent and
practiced by the Portage Electrology Center.
WHY CONSIDER ELECTROLOGY?
Anyone concerned about abnormal or superfluous hair growth should consider electrology
as it is the only proven method to permanently and safely eliminate unwanted hair.
Your comfort is our priority.
We offer the application of non-prescription topical anesthetic
ointment on sensitive areas. Additionally, we are partnered with a local physician should prescription topical anesthetic be necessary.
